Lake Warren State Park POTA Activation Planning Today at 11 AM
SCHH ARC Will Go to Hampton County on August 9th!
The SCHH ARC will operate KE4HAM at Lake Warren State Park in a multi-station Parks on the Air (POTA) activation on Saturday, August 9th.
Jack Frisch, K2ITZ is coordinating the club’s efforts for our POTA activation.
A Zoom Meeting will be conducted today (July 22nd) at 11 AM to plan the outing. Zoom info has been emailed to all members.
All club members are invited to participate in both the planning and the activation.
Lake Warren State Park — Park US- 2903 — is one of over 12,000 parks that are in the POTA register and is about an hour’s drive from Sun City Hilton Head.

We will have a nice pavilion in which to operate KE4HAM.

Our ARC included a POTA activation when we were operating KE4HAM on Hunting Island last August. As such, KE4HAM will be activating its second park in early August. Hope to see you there!!
Additional details will be in next week’s This & That.
Do You Do POTA? If So, How Are You Doing?
As we move toward our club’s second POTA activation, let’s hear from club members regarding current “numbers”. How many parks have you worked? How many successful activations have you had? Any comments about POTA? What do you like about POTA? What don’t you like about it?
This & That will plan to provide a summary of what is sent back from our readership in the coming weeks!
Please email any relevant input to Harve at hnat463@gmail.com. Many thanks!
Telegraph History at Gettysburg Battlefield Museum
Ed Stratton, W1ZZ recently visited Gettysburg, PA and toured the national military park’s museum there.

How is this for a piece of historical Morse Code hardware?

Thanks for sharing the photos, Ed!

In addition to the members listed in last week’s This & That, Ken Finke (KN8F) also had a clean sweep. Congratulations, Ken!

Harve Hnatiuk (KB3FW) operated as K2L on CW and notched nearly 400 QSOs for the SC team. Ed Stratton (W1ZZ) was also a K2L operator.

Vanity Call Sign for Al E. Gator

We received two responses with vanity callsigns for Al…both very good!!
Bob McCormick, KD8IH suggested that Al looks like he’s from England and tagged him as “G8OR”. Charlie Bess, AD5EN followed the same tack but with a US callsign, “AG8ER”.
Well done!

Please check-in to our nets and let others know how you are doing and what you are doing in ham radio and in other areas.
If you would like to direct a net as an NCS, please contact Harve, KB3FW (hnat463@gmail.com). Your help would be greatly appreciated!
The club is attempting to get the 147.06 machine back into legal operation. For now, the .060 machine should be considered “off limits” for anything other than monitoring.
