ARC’s Lake Warren State Park POTA Activation Is This Coming Saturday!

If You Want to Join in the Fun, Please RSVP ASAP!

The club is heading to Hampton County on Saturday, August 9th to activate Lake Warren State Park. Our POTA activation will include three stations, two on SSB and the other on CW…all using the club callsign KE4HAM!

Previous editions of This & That have provided a lot of information and details.

Here is the time-line for the activity.

Thursday, August 7th @ 3:30 PM – Volunteers meet up at the Storage facility to get needed equipment, materials, etc. for the activation.

Saturday, August 9th @ 10 AM – Meet at Pavilion #1 at Lake Warren State Park to begin set-up for POTA activation.

Saturday, August 9th ~ 12 Noon – Begin operating three KE4HAM stations.

Saturday, August 9th ~ 12 Noon/12:30 PM – Enjoy some great hot dogs for lunch!

All members coming to the outing are encouraged to bring snacks for all to enjoy and any beverages (no alcohol!) that they wish to enjoy themselves or care to share. We usually have no shortages of food and drink!

Saturday, August 9th ~ 3-3:30 PM – Wrap up the POTA activation, take down antennas, etc. and head back to SCHH.

Sunday, August 10th or Monday, August 11th (to be determined) – Return equipment and materials to Storage.

This outing is open to all club members. All members who come to the lake will be welcomed and encouraged to operate one of the three KE4HAM stations.

It is important that you let Jack Frisch or Harve Hnatiuk know if you are planning to be at this event and if you are bringing a guest or guests.

As we are planning to have some food and drink at the outing, we do need to know how many people will be there, right?

As of now, the following club members have indicated that they will be there: Lon Seward (WB4KSG), Ken Finke (KN8F), Chip Miller (KQ4JKI), Frank Pollino (K2OS), Jack Frisch (K2ITZ), Harve Hnatiuk (KB3FW), Bob Officer (WA6WAY).

If you don’t see your name here and want to join the fun, please let Harve or Jack know you are going to be there no later than NOON on Wednesday, August 6th.

Net News

Please check-in to our nets and let others know how you are doing and what you are doing in ham radio and in other areas.

The club is attempting to get the 147.06 machine back into legal operation. For now, the .060 machine should be considered “off limits” for anything other than monitoring.
