Help IS Needed!
by Harve Hnatiuk, KB3FW
Anything that an individual does for a team, an organization, a company, a country, and yes, an amateur radio club is a PLUS.
Think about an empty glass that needs liquid. Someone can’t fill the glass but can add to it. A second person adds more even though that person can’t fill the glass either. The level in the glass rises. Eventually, as other motivated or engaged people input more time and talent, the glass is filled or even overflows!

Perhaps you noted that the listings were provided under the banner below, which states “Help Needed”. Notably, it does not state “Help Wanted”. There is more urgency in the word “Needed” than there is in the word “Wanted”.

The opportunities are:
— To help set up “Elmer Presentations” for our ARC membership meetings.
— To help with our club’s Web Page and ultimately be our “Webmaster”.
— To be our ARC’s Public Information Officer (PIO).
The club also needs an active and engaged “Public Service Member at Large” on our Board.
And, as included in almost every This & That for the past two years or so, our weekly nets could use one or two additional net control stations.
Lately, the club hasn’t had any members step up to help in these areas. The glass is not being filled!
The list of openings and needs isn’t getting any shorter. Our SCHH ARC needs your help.
Can you help? Please reach out to Bob McCormick, KD8IH (kd8ih@earthlink.net) with any questions or better yet, to say “Yes, here is how I can help!”
Many thanks for your consideration!
Help Is Needed On a Broader Scale Too!
The American Radio Relay League (ARRL) is focused on reducing legal restraints on the ability of American Amateur Radio Operators to engage in the active practice and enjoyment of Amateur Radio.
One of the most insidious and increasing threats to the survival of Amateur Radio and our ability to serve our communities and Nation, as we are required to do by Federal regulation, is the proliferation of private land use restrictions that prohibit the installation of outdoor antennas and that sometimes actually deny Federally licensed Amateurs from operating any amateur radios, regardless of where their antennas are located — in their attics, hidden in trees, or mounted on their vehicles.
CARS Swapmeet Getting Closer!

SCHH ARC Nets
Net News
Please check-in to our nets and let others know how you are doing and what you are doing in ham radio and in other areas of your life.
The club is attempting to get the 147.06 repeater back into legal operation. We have reached out to Jasper County Emergency Management to see if we can help with this situation. We are still awaiting a response.
It is unclear how long it will take to resolve this situation. Our ARC will remain proactive as we try to restore this important piece of ham radio infrastructure in the Low Country. We have reached out to Jasper County Emergency Management but have had no response. Stay tuned!
If you look up KK4ONF on QRZ.com, you can confirm the current issue. For now, the .060 KK4ONF machine should be considered “off limits” for anything other than monitoring.
